The inputs by panelists and ensuing discussion will focus on the following:

  1. The ways in which COVID-19 vaccines have been/continue to be, developed and distributed at a global level (with particular focus on public vs private sector involvement/roles, national vs international initiatives and associated financing and costs).
  2. The specific case of South Africa in respect of vaccine procurement and overall roll-out plan (in the context of deep structural inequalities and the state of public and private healthcare)
  3. The key sources of widespread vaccine skepticism/opposition and how best to deal with these.
